So anyway, I wrote this long post defending Obama and somehow erased it. In lieu of writing it again here's a little back and forth from FB that outlines my "Axelrod theory".

Hard to know what Obama has to deal with behind the scenes. A few things are panning out that Obama was blasted for like putting Geithner in charge of the mess he helped create. Genius (maybe Axelrod genius) as far as I'm concerned. Filling those vacancies with liberal / progressives would've freaked out Wall St. and IMHO we'd be in a depression. I've been studying Axelrod quite a bit and if my theory is correct, those guys will be replaced...slowly but surely with progressives. Not to sound like, you know, a pussy but I don't think "hope" is a dumb word and to be honest I was just hoping that Palin wouldn't be anywhere near the presidency.
Not to toot my own horn but I wonder if you noticed Obama's stiff-arm to Geithner today. He's functionally being replaced with Volcker less than 24 hours after I predicted it. (Well on FB anyway. I've been working on my "Axelrod Theory" for about a month or so. ) Anyway, the evidence presented itself today. Poof>>>http://www.washingtonpost.com/... Your absolutely right about the economy not improving. (Wall St. different story) Trust me...I'm underwater but the thing is, we aren't in a depression which you would surely be blaming on Obama had he flooded his cabinet with progressives and crashed the market. So no, he couldn't appoint whomever he wanted because his situation was different and much more dire than W's. So ~WAY~ : )
No, I don't believe the spin that things are better. I mentioned that but I do believe that things would be much worse etc...And a president shaking up his cabinet IS action.
I don't believe in absolutes and so I disagree with your argument that "no one" on the left is competent.
You may be right about Krugman et al having better plans but that wasn't action as you put...just talk and theory.

Oh, the crazy talk comes from Bernie Sanders / Thom Hartman those MSM guys...; )
Gotta head off to the eye dr...TBC
Gotcha...misread that. Basically, I'm saying there's a method to his madness.
Obama came into office and essentially had to give the country mouth to mouth resuscitation and then the left turns around and calls him a bad kisser.
I'm certain you and I want the same things; an entirely progressive government, health care, a turn around from this fascist direction we're heading, you name it. I'm not saying Obama can do no wrong and he's made some mistakes like not sending certain traiterous bitches to jail. Which, BTW he has the moral imperative to do and hasn't.... See More
We're only 1/4 or 1/8 through his term so l think we should wait a little before we, you know, send him to hell. lol.
Well yay for George Fucking Bush...those things are easy to do when your amoral enough to use fear and well, crime. Fixing the mess is a different story.
First of all, don't call me an Obamabot. A bot is someone who gloms on to their favorite writers because you think they're special. I follow many of the same writers and pundits you do and to be honest, many of them couldn't wait to bash Obama so they could show their ~journo chops~. It was like a hot footrace to see who could be more contrary and prove they were above partisanship. In my circle of writer friends (and friend in general) - criticizing Obama is the norm and if I was any kind of bot I would've followed them without question. Do I love them madly? Yea. Do I think they speak the gospel? No. They are paid and judged by whether they can carve a niche and project an air of even-handedness.
The term "bipartisan" makes me sick too but "Obamabot" is right there. Talk about worn to death. Your in league with Kentucky trailer park teens smacking their gum. ... See More
{"Waiting" is like "hope", and I'm not religious} Heh? Be careful about slinging the "crazy" word around when you drop carrots like that. First, you were Obama bashing from the opening bell right? So when I say we should wait before we condemn him to hell I sorta meant that in general and not specifically to you. You haven't waited at all and I think you've confused "hope" with "faith". I'm not religious either and I'm not a zealot to anyone including my favorite pundits.

longer version: yeah, this country's never been rational, as i suppose befalls all empires, but since we were the newest on the block, we at least championed creativity and ingenuity, for a while, alas for many only for the $$$ . . . now complex thinking and the robustness of a varied society are on the chopping block. and heads roll fast, i suppose. IDIOTS rule. i'm now including Obama, such a sell out. If i were remotely religious, you know where i'd be sending him . . .
OK, well, there's all 2 of you, i added one just to be generous:) Am i missing anything? i think this was a BIG sign, an OMEN, ha! now i'm goin' all religious myself:) I can't tell you how many people who just can't help themselves, still using that dumb word "Hope", and i have to point out that Barry promised way back to escalate a stupid non"war", and so told us way back where his priorities lay . . .

Offline for a day! damn computer, anyway, in general i think it's obvious that Barry COULD be running the country, after all, George managed, he just is too insulated, and too "careful". He's lied about many issues, this does not sit well with me! re Geithner et al, there is NO WAY he had to appoint 3 men who were part of the financial collapse. ... See MoreThat's silly. George Bush appointed whoever the F he wanted. The population distrusts Wall Street/banking system; what better place to introduce realism? Barry missed this opportunity on purpose, and please RMF, if you have any evidence that this is just a sly move on Obama's part, please produce it; and btw, you do know that there hasn't actually been any improvement on the financial scene, right? i suggest reading Yves Smith, great financial blog; Stieglitz, etc . .

RMF, let's just wait til he actually DOES something, besides talking, and giving away more to the banksters. Evidence is action, RMF, not words:)and since he's been run over for the past year . . . And I think you need to read more before crediting him with saving the economy so far, all they did was postpone things, while the banksters made off... See More . . . you can't really believe the spin that things are better? I'll send you good links when i run across them, too lazy to go put it together now. And "flooding the market with progressives" would certainly NOT have"crashed the market", that's completely irrational, Stieglitz Krugman Baker et al. had much better prescriptions for addressing the actual problems, I don't know where that crazy talk came from, too much MSM in your ears . . . be really scared! No one is competent on the left, etc, total BS.

I didn't say that no one on the left is competent, that was the inference from YOUR statement that he couldn't have put in progressives . . . in fact the real economists anyway aren't "progressive" or anything else, they are just honest about what is actually happening, and wouldn't have permitted the bailouts without SOME STRINGS, maybe ... See Morechains! attached, vs. what we got, which was ZERO for the people, profiteering for the banks, which is why everyone is even more pissed off now . . . and Krugman and others had no opportunity to act, thanks to Barry, all they could do was talk, whereas Barry could have acted, etc.
Gotcha...misread that. Basically, I'm saying there's a method to his madness.

Oxygen woulda been good; he just greased the fatcats instead. Please, we shouldn't say things that aren't true: there is no "Left" to speak of, and the people who wanted him to take meaningful action are about 70% of the country, that's not "left" or "right", and that's why he's in trouble now. "Waiting" is like "hope", and I'm not religious.. The... See More first year is the most important, it's exactly the reverse of waiting, once you lose support, and once you show everyone how weak you are, you permit the crazies to emerge and control the message. He failed badly; we didn't have to be forced to endure the birthers, teabaggers, etc . . . he's supposed to LEAD, you know, that's what he was elected to do, be a leader, not a wimp or a placater. And the only use for your opening metaphor is that he's kissed way too many republican buts, he started out that way, and is still continuing, he's now going to have to rinse his mouth out and cleanse . . . if i hear that word "bipartisan" one more time, i'll puke myself:) I want all you Obamabots to stop with the "give him time" crap; George Bush, with no majorities, managed 2 wars, fiscal bankrupting, global-warming denial, etc. . . . all by messaging, controlling the media . . .
Well yay for George Fucking Bush...those things are easy to do when your amoral enough to use fear and well, crime. Fixing the mess is a different story.
